His new venture, Northeast Handicrafts is indeed a treasure trove for handicraft lovers like me, particularly those from the NE area. In a short period of time, Avi has been able to put together local artisans whose work he showcases to the world online.

I am extremely honored that I am his first customer - having bought 2 Naga masks and a panel, made of the rare and famed Gamari wood. These items have been made by Naga artisans with Naga wood in Nagaland.

It was Avi who reached out to me first - sending me his limited but lovely catalogue, after which I proceeded with my buy. During the course of making my purchase, Avi kept sending me snaps of the craft items (in progress and complete) before the dispatch. Today, these two fabulous works of art - I display proudly in my living room at my residence in Chennai.

Avi continues to expand his catalogue - with lovely Muga paintings, carved wall hangings, bamboo lampshades, Tibetan door frames....everytime I see the photos, I am amazed - the beautiful handiwork of the North East and the brilliant efforts undertaken by Avi, taking NE to the world.
